Video Production / Photoshop Brief

Today, Friday 9th November 2012, I have received the brief for Video Production and Photoshop. This brief outlines tasks that I have to complete. The units covered are:

Introduction to Photoshop
Media Audiences
Video Production
Video Post-Production
Application of Number

In order to complete Task One I will have to create a blog... this one in fact... and keep an update of my progress of my learning, planning and research materials. I also have to complete two 500 word critical analysis of a movie poster and a film trailer.

Task Two will see me create three movie posters. The first poster will be a teaser of my film aimed at a specific target audience. The second poster will be an attempt to target an audience that would not normally watch a film of the genre that I intend to make. The third poster will be my final design to accompany the film.

I will also need to upload any evidence of designs and development of skills I have gained using Photoshop.

For Task Three I will have to conduct market research at my target audience to create a portfolio of market research data. This will included feedback from people about my ideas online from sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Blogger. I will have to present evidence using questionnaires and tables and graphs of my analysis that I withdraw from my results. A focus group will also be conducted  and I will provide an explanation of my research which will be implemented in the final piece.

Task 4 is the creation of a short film where three key elements will be covered such as Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. For Pre-Production I will have to write a synopsis, write a script, design a storyboard, create a shot list, work out a production schedule, create a budget list and write a location report.

The Production will see the filming of the short film to which will need to be shot in compliance with my schedule. I will also need to record the footage on log sheets that I will need to access.

In the Post-Production stage I will edit the footage on Final Cut Pro and present it on DVD.

The fifth and final task will see me write my final blog entry of 1000 words evaluating my assignments. Areas I will have to cover in this blog will cover my thoughts on my final edited film and the production process of the development of the poster. I will also cover how my market research aided me in the development of my project and the audience response concluding with the audience theories that supports this.
